Intex Seahawk II Pros & Cons
Intex Seahawk II PROs
- After hitting rocks, branches and bridges columns the boat looked like new.
- The Intex Seahawk II is more rigid and durable, can be inflated to higher pressure, and is more puncture-resistant because it is actually a 3-ply system including Super-Tough PVC OVER a nylon fabric layer
- Motor mount setup included with the Intex Seahawk II.
- the Intex Seahawk II is rated up to 2 hp and Mariner up to 3 hp
- About 10-15 minutes of steady pumping to fill up the raft.
- I am absolutely in awe of this inexpensive yet tough, durable, large and stable boat.
- The hand pump included with this package worked well enough, but I definitely recommend an electric or battery-operated pump because the boat's three separate air compartments take forever to fill with a hand pump.
- The oars included were solid, but the boat's oar locks didn't seem to work exactly right with the oars.
- I love that the material they made this boat from is so thick and unstretchy.
- The Seahawk II and the Mariner (it's larger cousin) are much more firm and rigid.
- Floor is surprisingly stable in water for getting in and out.
- Easy to pump up
- Can sit on sides of boat without tipping over or water getting in
- Can stand up in it though probably not recommended
- Good quality material…survived an entire day of being scraped over large river rocks
- Good for the price
- Large enough for 3 people to be comfortable
- The thickness of the material to be very important due to the level of the river had us dragging across a lot of rocks. The three separate air cells in the boat gave us added assurance as to keeping it afloat if a leak were to happen.
- We encountered few currents and then got stuck on rock or rub on top of rocks a number of times in the middle of river. We were afraid that our boat may got holes from rocks and begin leaking air. After finish the entire rafting trip for about 4 miles, it is so impressively that we couldn’t found any scratch on the bottom or on the side of the boat.

Intex Seahawk II CONs
- It says that it is for four passengers, but it is actually better fitted for two with room for supplies.
- The boat did well and fairly stable on water. The oars work but hard to control direction for inflatable boat.
- Boat does not track excellent but much better than most inflatables and better when sitting lower in boat
- You won't be getting it back in the bag after you take it out. You will have to buy a bigger bag, or carry/drag it inflated.
- The fishing rod holder didn't seem to hold up strong enough to keep the pole from leaning into the water.
- The oars that came with the raft both broke, or rather, the cheap plastic couplings that held them together broke. These oars are not designed for rigorous rowing; not fun when it snaps while trying to line up for a run through the rapids.
- The included duffle bag is also too small.
- It is true that the oar locks are small and should otherwise not be used. This raft is best used by sitting on the sides or back with a T-handle paddle.
